Enjoy Vienna in Spring

Vienna is the ultimate city for culture, art and music. There are so many elegant buildings with beautiful ceilings, famous paintings including Austria's own Gustav Klimt and of course music from Mozart.

Five Top Tips for Spring in Vienna
1. Vienna's blooming!
Take a walk around the city's parks and gardens and be enchanted by all the greenery and the magnificent blossoms everywhere you look. The cherry trees are in bloom along the Ringstrasse and beckon you to take a walk around the center of the city.

2. Lots of variety for food and flower lovers
From the usual choice of fruits, vegetables and flowers to sushi, doner kebabs and oysters, you'll find everything your heart desires at the Viennese markets. Hot tips are the Naschmarkt, with its bordering flea market on Saturdays, and the farmer's markets at Brunnenmarkt, Karmelitermarkt and Rochusmarkt.

3. Enjoying and experiencing art
The Albertina, Vienna's largest exhibition house, is showing "The Age of Rembrandt" from 4 March until 21 June 2009. Admire contemporary art and design at the MAK - FREE on Saturdays.

4. Vienna is more than a waltz
There is a huge choice of clubs and pubs, with ambitious programs that are definitely worth discovering: Flex, located on the Donaukanal is the music spot in Vienna, with a punk heritage and a concrete subwoofer, and the young and wild jazz scene can be found at Porgy & Bess. Or enjoy some classical music at the Vienna Festival where there will be more than 200 performances from 11 May until 17 June 2009.

5. Art and culinary delights side by side
The MuseumsQuartier is Vienna's exciting art complex, offering not only reknowned museums such as the Leopold Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art - it is also home to an array of restaurants, cafes and bars. From 23 until 26 April 2009 "Modepalast," the annual fashion exhibition, will draw the crowds to the MQ and starting 7 May 2009 the "Summer in the MQ" will offer various places to chill out in the central courtyard.
